SEW-EGAP Policy Dialogue on Women in Peace

The 4th Policy Dialogue on Women Empowerment in Pakistan on the theme ‘Women, Peace Education & Way Forward’ was held at the SEPLAA Foundation today under the SEW-EGAP Co Founder Mrs. Ammara Farooq Malik.

Several ideas were floated and participants made recommendations for the SEPLAA Foundation University Program and the SEPLAA Young Leaders’ Club School Program due to start from January 2016. It was highlight that in order to create a tolerant society, children must be reached and empowered towards healthy activities to build peace. Women’s role in such activities is essential as they play the roles of teachers and school administrators. Mrs. Ammara Malik Co-Founder SEW-EGAP, also suggested that special recommendations should be given to the government to help develop the counter narrative of peace for Pakistan through the engagement of children, youth and women in positive activities as suggested.

In the end, Ms. Zahra Wyne Co-Founder SEW-EGAP, thanked the participants and especially Ms. Asma Fakhr (Head, British Council Active Citizens Program at LCWU), Mr. Khurram Waqas Malik, Mrs. Saima Asghar Riaz, Mrs. Faiza Tariq, Ms. Zahra Wyne, Mrs. Sanniah Hassan, Mr. Hassan Wyne, Ms. Naeema Butt, Ms. Amna Zafar and Mrs. Sarah Naqvi for the brilliant interventions.
